Bridge to Kids Days 2007

On Friday, May 4 and Friday, May 11 over 100 mentees from SAD #75 visited their mentors on the Bowdoin College campus to celebrate their year spent together in the Bowdoin College/SAD #75 mentoring program. The day was not only special for college mentors and their "littles," but it also represented two years of continued collaboration among Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Bath-Brunswick, SAD #75, the Bowdoin College Community Service Resource Center, and the other organizations of the Merrymeeting Bay Mentoring Coalition.

Bowdoin students anxiously awaited their mentees arrival outside of Moulton Union, and at 11:30 they welcomed their mentees to campus. Pairs proceeded to Thorne Dining Hall for a free lunch and a chance to hang out, play games, and reminisce about their year spent together.

Mentees were treated to a campus tour, and some were able to attend the College's "Museum Steps" Dance Show. When it was time to say good-bye in the afternoon, it was clear that the mentees would always remember a great year spent with their mentors and their exciting field trip to the College.

Mentor Fair 2006

The Merrymeeting Bay Mentoring Coalition kicked off its 2006 recruitment campaign on National "thank your mentor day," January 25th. This celebration of local mentors featured a wonderful presentation by the Mt. Ararat High School Jazz Band

Community members had the chance to
learn about the
many opportunities
for mentoring in our community.

The evening concluded with a balance and concentration activity that involved passing balloons from person to person presented by students from the Riverview Foundation.
